Well guess you me, those naysayers are TOTALLY el-wrongo! Sure, it requires more attention to find a perfect domain name....but with patience, you can devise high-quality names with the greatest of ease. And here's how!
Before You Begin - Your Name, Your Niche...
I've bought over a thousand domains in my online career (You can see them HERE!) and no matter what, I've always been able to hit on the best names for my needs.
Here's some of the strategies I use.
Step 1 - What's Your Business or Personal WebSite About?
Wasn't that simple? :-)
Seriously though...what IS it all about?
What goals do you have for your site? ie,
- Do you want to make money?
- Do you want to run a business?
- Do you want to promote a cause?
- Do you want to host a family site?
See what I mean? Let's say that you're a, oh, I don't know....someone who does scrapbooking and you sell your artwork locally. You could try names like:
- Essex Scrapbook Gifts
- Framers of the Lost Art
- Colorado Scrapbook Services
etc.
Are you a realtor instead? How about:
- NJPerfectHomes.com (already taken, smart realtor!)
- YourNextDFW.com (dallas/fort worth)
- WaterburyHomesForYou.com
Are you simply looking to build a resume site that glories you? Why not consider your name or your profession?
I bought my kids' their names as domains, and also 4 or 5 of my friends as well.

One neat way to figure out super coolio names is to spin together keywords...and see what comes up.
